Where can a group see holiday lights in the Bay Area by bus?

Groups can travel by bus to Filoli in Woodside, Glowfari at Oakland Zoo, Lightscape in San Francisco, Christmas in the Park in San José, or North Pole Nights at Gilroy Gardens. Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation provides vans, shuttles, and coaches for 13–56 passengers. We arrange pickup and the return while your group explores the displays on foot.

Children can point out their favorite animal lanterns while adults linger over the displays. For colleagues, a garden walk offers a chance to catch up somewhere other than the office. Families visiting together can take their time with the photos, with the ride home already arranged.

Colleagues or friends spending an evening outdoors

Bauer’s arranges the ride to your chosen attraction. Admission, where required, is booked separately with the venue. These outings involve walking after arrival, so we discuss accessibility and pickup arrangements with your organizer.

Can we add dinner or another stop?

A dinner stop or a second attraction can be requested as part of your route. We review the distance between stops and any ticketed entry times before recommending the schedule.

Dinner followed by a walk through Filoli can suit a company evening. Families choosing North Pole Nights may prefer to spend the evening at Gilroy Gardens, with time for the shows as well as the lights. We build the ride around the outing you choose.

What do you need to get a quote?

We can start with your date, group size, and pickup location. Your quote depends on the vehicle, route, and service hours, and we confirm the transportation details with you before booking.

  • Date & entry time Your date and any entry time already booked at the attraction.

  • Pickup & attraction Your pickup location and the attraction your group has chosen.

  • Group size Passenger count, plus any strollers, mobility aids, or extra storage.

  • Dinner & extra stops A dinner stop or an additional pickup can be added as plans develop.

How does booking work?

  1. Sprinter Vans

    1. We plan around your evening

We review opening hours and any booked entry time. Some attractions, like Glowfari, use timed entry slots released a few weeks ahead, so we plan pickup around the slot your group has booked.

  2. Coach Charter Bus Left zoom seating view

    2. We match the ride to your group

We recommend an available vehicle with seats for everyone. Strollers, mobility aids, and any extra storage needs are part of that conversation.

  3. 3. We plan the ride back

We review bus access and agree on a return meeting point with you. The schedule includes time to walk back from the displays.

FAQs

Got Questions? We've Got Answers

  • Which holiday lights displays can a group visit by bus?

Five of the Bay Area’s best: Filoli in Woodside, Glowfari at the Oakland Zoo, Lightscape at the San Francisco Botanical Garden, Christmas in the Park in San José, and North Pole Nights at Gilroy Gardens. If your group has another display in mind, ask us. If a bus can get there, we can plan it.

  • How does the outing actually work? Is it a guided tour?

It’s your evening, with the transportation handled. We pick your group up at an agreed point, drive you to the attraction, and arrange the return for when you’re done. Your group explores the displays on foot, at its own pace, and the ride home is already waiting at a meeting point everyone knows.

  • Are the attraction tickets included?

No, admission is booked separately with the venue, where it’s required. Christmas in the Park is free. Our quote covers the transportation: the vehicle, the route, and the service hours, confirmed with you before booking.

  • What do you need from us to get a quote?

Three things: your date, group size, and pickup location. If you’ve already chosen an attraction, include its name and any booked entry time. A dinner stop or an extra pickup can be added as plans develop. You don’t need the whole evening figured out to start.

  • Our Glowfari tickets have a timed entry slot. How does that work with the pickup?

That’s exactly the kind of detail we plan around. Glowfari releases timed slots a few weeks ahead, so once your group books one, tell us the time and we’ll set the pickup so you arrive for your window without rushing. The same goes for any venue with a booked entry time.

  • Can we add a dinner stop or visit two places in one evening?

Yes to dinner, and sometimes to a second stop. We review the distance between stops and any ticketed entry times before recommending a schedule, because an evening that looks good on paper can turn into a night spent riding. Dinner plus Filoli works well for a company evening. For North Pole Nights, most families prefer to stay at Gilroy Gardens and enjoy the shows.

  • How big can our group be, and which vehicle would we get?

Luxury vans seat 13 or 14, shuttles seat 23, 27, or 31, and coaches seat 38, 52, or 56. Tell us your headcount and what you’re bringing, and we’ll recommend the vehicle with room for everyone and everything.

  • We're bringing kids, strollers, and the grandparents. Can you handle that?

That’s who these evenings are for. Strollers, mobility aids, and extra storage are part of the vehicle conversation from the start, and ADA-accessible vehicles are available upon request. All five attractions involve walking after arrival, so tell us about your group and we’ll plan the pickup arrangements to match.

  • How does the ride home work at the end of the night?

Before the trip, we review the venue’s bus access and agree on a return meeting point with you. The schedule includes time to walk back from the displays, compare photos, and board without anyone being hurried. Everyone knows the spot, and the vehicle is there.

  • Can you pick people up from more than one place?

Yes. An additional pickup can be part of the route, which helps when the team is coming from the office and the families from a second meeting point. We’ll sequence the stops so the evening starts together.

  • How late do these evenings run?

Each attraction keeps its own hours: Filoli runs until 10pm, Christmas in the Park until 10pm, and the others vary by night. We plan the return around your preferred time, not ours. Our dispatch runs 24/7/365, so a late walk back through the lights is not a problem.

  • How far in advance should we book?

Two calendars fill up at once in December: the attractions’ ticketed nights and the region’s vehicles. Glowfari’s timed slots release a few weeks ahead and the popular evenings go quickly, so the best move is booking the tickets and the transportation together, as soon as your group picks a date.
